Dr. Charlie Haywood Bridges received his early education at Charlie Haywood Harper School in Mendenhall, Mississippi. He received a B.S. degree in Chemistry from Alcorn State University in Lorman, MS, where he graduated Cum Laude. He received a medical degree from the University of Mississippi Medical Center.

Dr. Bridges completed his internship at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center in Denver, Colorado and residency in Urology, at the Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington. From 1983 to 1987, he served as Chief of Urology at Blanchfield Army Hospital, and has been in private practice in Baton Rouge for over twenty years.

He is Board certified with the American Board of Urology and has successfully completed Recertification, twice. Dr. Bridges, a retired Lieutenant Colonel of the U.S. Army is affiliated with Our Lady of the Lake Hospital, Baton Rouge General Medical Center, and serves as Chief Urologist at Lallie Kemp Medical Center in Independence, Louisiana, Medical Director for East Baton Rouge Parish Prison, and Past President of the Louisiana Urological Society.
